Fire cupping has been prevalent in many forms of medicine around the
world for centuries.
A fire cup is simply a cup held upside down and the air inside of it heated. Once the air is hot the cup is applied to the soft tissue of the body. As the air cools rapidly in the cup, it shrinks in size, pulling the soft tissue up into the cup with a vacuum. The rim of the cup seals against the body.
Once the cups are settled, oil is applied to the skin and the cups moved around the body. Stimulating blood flow and pulling at muscle knots.
Skin marking is common after the cups are removed. I like to say it looks like you have been in a fight with a octopus as the marks show in small round bruises. Sometimes they can be quite dark depending on how long the cup remained in one spot.
Usually treatments are not painful. Feedback has been that people are left feeling invigorated and their pain has lessened.
If this sounds interesting let me know and we can arrange for you to experience it.
I also have a few sets of fire cups for sale if you are thinking to try it yourself!
