How it happens!
Helping you understand where the time goes!
Initial contact
This is usually pretty quick but can/has taken many many emails to get to that point. Ultimately we are agreeing that we will embark on this adventure together.
Factors that help me establish your tattoo estimate.
Skill level or specialty of the design
Prep time, making the deign and studio set up/tear down.
Actual installation time
Factors that may increase the estimated cost when it happens
Unexpected design changes or stubborn placement issues.
Underestimation of actual tattooing time.
Your bodies ability to tolerate the actual tattooing or my bad jokes!
Tattoo Design.
Many people know exactly what they want to do. They will have an image/words that may only need small changes/ different font to make it complete.
Others have an idea of what they want to express yet are unsure of how to transfer that idea into visual art.
At this point I will ask questions to assist my searching for the different elements I feel captures your vision or something close!
It’s then emailed to you for your final approval. At this time you need to check for spelling mistakes to ensure your names, dates etc are right.
I will also use that drawing to help in establishing a plan of attack and preparing my supplies.
This process can take time if we communicate and make the necessary adjustments.
Before You Arrive
All machines, bottles, the power supply and music, lights and wires will be covered with a protective single use plastic saran/bag.
Needles and accessories will be placed in their special spot.
Magic spray, band aids, paper towels on the table, precut tape for the stencil hangs from the light
Razor, Detol(used to set stencil) Alcohol(to clean shaved area not drink) are set up on the stencil tray.
There will also be Aftercare instructions a waiver and full candy bowl.
This process takes me approx 20 mins.
Preparing your stencil
This was discussed and approved by you before your arrival. We will now need to fit it to your body.
We wil start by my printing off a copy that will work. Sometimes due to curvy, hard to reach or accomidations it might take a few attempts to find the size/style that works best.
I will then sit down and trace your stencil or put the printed copy through the stencil machine where it will make me a carbon copy that will be placed on your skin
It then gets cut out and stuck with tape to my lamp.
Next I will shave you (Or you have shaved for me after reading this and knowing it has to happen anyways!)
We will place the stencil with the tape, moving it about until you are happy with where it will be.
If needed I will take pictures to show you so you can have a true visual.
This can take time and patience. OR it can be quick and easy.
Sometimes I will get the stencil ready and taped then move on to setting up my machines before placing the stencil.

Setting up your machines.
Depending on your tattoo I could need 2 machines.
Usually it's a Liner machines and a Shading/coloring machine.
Each are set differently and use different needle groupings
I start by taking the needle out of the sterilized package and inspecting it for quality.
It then twists into my machine and I will then test the machine to be sure it is running well.
I repeat this process for each machine and then set them aside.

Ink cups, wipes and a water cup for rinsing.
I use Vaseline to set my cups in so they don’t slide around and have a extra pile of Vaseline that I will use during the tattoo installation to keep the area moist.
I will need a pile of ready to grab moist paper towels.
There is a “smell” in many shops you may always associate with your tattooing adventures It derives from a product called Green soap. Which is a plant based, environmentally friendly soap.
I add it to distilled water to help us keep a clean work area.
I will make sure I have cut your band-aids.
That my personal water bottle is covered and the music is set.
If I have not already applied your stencil it happens at this time.
Now I will pour your inks

Determining where I will tattoo you.
The accessibility of the area/ physical limitations of both, us and my equipment are all facors in deciding the best position to tattoo you.
Once determined the necessary protection will be applied and finally I will give you that look that says….
It’s go time!

A Cautionary warning...
I may have to have a pee now. I will be quick!
Setting up is sometimes a longer process than the actual tattoo time.

FINALLY ... we are all set up to color!
The tattoo begins with an outline followed by the shading/color with a lot of wipes from my soaped paper towels to help bring it to completion.
The final step is to go over your aftercare instructions as I demonstrate while I place your bandage.
TA DA!!
You now have your new addition and I hope that the experience left you with a both a tattoo and a memory that bring happiness to your bubble.
